Committee Member of Oswestry & Border History & Archaeology Group – OBHAG
I spent the first half of my working life as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in pathology departments in local Shropshire hospitals, transferring later to two hospitals in London where I also took part in some cancer research projects. Then there came the big change, when for my sins I worked in Her Majesty’s Prison Service, Psychology Section, as a Psychological Assistant. Having signed the Official Secrets Act I can not comment on what I did in that capacity in case some men in black suits come and take me away !
Since retirement in 1999 I have been able to follow more fully my interest in archaeology and ancient history. I am a founder member of CRAG, (Clwydian Range Archaeology Group) and have been excavating with them for the last 4 years on Moel Arthur, one of the hillforts in the Clwydian mountains. Later I joined OBHAG and am also a member of WAES, (Wirral Ancient Egypt Society) and FFH (Flintshire Field Historians).
